PURE PLANT OIL - COSTS AND TAXATION
Being environmentally sensitive no longer needs to cost the earth…

Taxation on bio-fuels – reducing!

Pure Plant Oil – seriously viable!

Save >30% against mineral based fuels

Save money – Save the planet

Whilst pure plant oil is an attractive proposition for any environmentally sensitive user of fuel, we recognise that it must also make firm commercial sense. Thankfully, so does the Government.

The production of pure plant oil does not compare favourably to the cost of extracting and distributing fossil fuels, but we all, including the Government, recognise that fossil fuels are not environmentally friendly and more importantly are not sustainable.

In order to encourage the use of environmentally friendly fuels, the Treasury has reduced the tax burden on bio-fuels fuels to 20p per litre less than fossil fuels in order to make them at least comparable with climate-damaging fuels. In April 2008, an additional reduction is being phased-in that will be tied to the carbon footprint of each bio-fuel. This will benefit Pure Plant Oil and Verdant Fuel, in particular, because the carbon footprint is so efficient. Verdant Fuel expects to be the best commercial choice as well being the best environmental choice.

By sourcing our feedstock carefully and making best use of the Government's bio-fuel incentives, we expect to supply Verdant Fuel significantly cheaper than bio-diesel of a comparable quality; and Verdant Fuel will have a significantly better carbon footprint.
